We are moving home, and right now I'm in a one bedroom flat with storage heaters, they are well too expensive that we don't use them and use oil filled radiators instead. However when we move we are going to find somewhere with gas central heating, In the winter if I had this on for enough time, (not sure on how long it'll take to get warm and stay warm) how much roughly will my gas cost me? Also how much electricity do you use? What price? Just looking so I know what to expect. We may be moving into a flat, house or bungalow but it'll definitely have at least two bedrooms. Thanks

Should be a little more expensive but I don't think it will be too much...but it all depends on your current usage and what your future usage will be.

I imagine you are only heating one room at a time which is quite cheap on electric and with gas central heating you will heat the entire house which compared to electric heating for one room is more expensive.

Will you also time the gas central heating to be on all the time or just the evening as you have now....or will you add a few more hours before you wake up so your house is warm whilst you get ready for work?

Will you turn the thermostat up thinking that gas is cheaper or will you keep the same temperature as you do know thinking that electric is expensive and should be used sparingly.

Correctly used electric storage heating is cheaper than oil filled radiators on an E7 tariff.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

How on earth did you manage to make storage heaters more expensive than oil filled radiators?

Oil radiators on a flat rate would be far more expensive than storage heaters on Eco7, and oil radiators on Eco7 peak rate would be hugely expensive!

Completely mad-NSH's on E7 are about one third the cost of standard rate electricity per kWh.
Gas CH and DHW is cheaper than anything else, though of course your bills may go up because the property is larger-you'll also have the standing charges to pay on both electricity and gas, and the annual boiler service cost.
Work it out on the UK average of 16,500 kWh of gas and 3,400kWh of electricity using any comp site.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
