Tips for tenants contents insurance please

I currently share a rented flat with one other person and am attempting to sort out contents insurance to cover MY stuff alone and I am running into a few problems.
In previous years I have insured through Endsleigh as they specialise in this type of insurance however my quote for this year is over £200 for just £11000 to be covered which seems poor value to me.

The problems arise as the property came part furnished - I own my own bedroom furniture, the tv, shelving etc. but the sofas, white goods and my flat mates bedroom furniture all belong to the landlord.
On top of this my flat mate is neither family or for the purposes of this, a friend (ie I didn't know him when he moved in) and this has thrown many of the companies I have talked to!!

Wondered if anyone had any tips of who might offer decent insurance in situations like this?

Thanks
