hi
i was just looking for a rough estimate, having never been to the states i have no idea about pricing
we are 2 adults new york for 3 nights, we want to do the normal touristy stuff ie rockafeller centre, empire state building, statue of liberty etc
we love our food and plan to have breakfast and dinner with snacks in between, maybe a broadway show and a few cocktails
and a little shopping, how much roughly do you think that we will need?
thanks in advance

Based on what we spent I would say around £1000 (Excluding money for shopping) if you want to eat in good restaurants.
That said, this is MSE and it is entirely possible to spend far far less than that on a budget.

It really is a 'how long is a piece of string' question
You can spend anything from less than $5 to $30+ for breakfast, depending on where you eat, same for snacks and dinner could be anything from $30 - $couple of hundred+.
Broadway shows - prices vary hugely depending on the show and where you sit
Tourist attractions - lots are free, prices for others can quickly and easily be found online
Shopping - a few tourist souvenirs or a case full of designer labels?Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endQuidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur0
