    1. What format is your music in? MP3, WAV etc

    2. Can you explain in more details what "it wont let me" means? How exactly are you trying to transfer your music to your Walkman?

    Hi
    Thanks for the replies
I am working with Windows XP and meet all the necessary requirements

Sorry but I am not very technical. I have ripped my cd's to my windows media player not sure how they have been saved - any advice on how I can find this out would be most appreciated.

I have managed to transfer all my libray of music to sonic stage but when I go to sync it looks as though it is copying to my walkman but then says error "transfers are not allowed"
and doesnt give any more infomation

it could be that when you ripped them in media player the box for copy protect music was ticked

you may need to rip them using sonic

to turn the option off in media player , start it up, click on TOOLS , the OPTIONS , then the RIP MUSIC Tab, it's on that page. I also change the Foramt settings to MP3

Hi thanks Browntoa - you are correct I had them copy protected - and I have just tried ripping another cd into windows media - without the copy protect on and in MP3 format and I can download it to my walkman without any problems.

Is there anyway now of converting all the music files on my hard drive into MP3 files or would I have to delete them all and rip them all again

thanks for all your help it is most appreciated

got the feeling with the copy protection on it's easier to just re- rip the ones you want ....unless someone knows better ??
