Not sure I understand your question. Do you mean you get the 123 CC free for a year when you have a 123 current account? If so, whether it's worth it for you, only you can decide. It's worth it for me because I get more in cashback than it costs me.

Just use a different card for your foreign spend. See http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/travel/cheap-travel-money
According to Santander 123 account comes with CC123 1 year free (you save £24).I looked to this offer b'cose sounds intersting.I dont need it for any petrol at all.

Yes I just had look at their charges.

You can avoid paying additional charges by staying within your credit limit and ensuring that payments are received on time.

Seem to be in the same line as just about every other credit card....

Staying within limit and making sure payments are recieved in time are pretty much given for EVERY CREDIT CARD, unless you want to pay the charges :rotfl:

The benefit of the Credit Card is from the cashback it offers on petrol and rail (3%) department stores (2%) and supermarkets (1%). If you do not use it for this you just have a moderately expensive credit card. Apart from the first year when it costs nothing you will pay £24. If the cashback you earn is less that £24 it will be of no use. In the first year you do not save £24 you just get the card for nothing.

The 3% interest is very misleading don't you think? Paying £24 a year for the account, so you are not really getting 3% at all are you?

No, because you still get 3% interest if you have sufficient funds in credit. The £2 per month s/c is made perfectly clear, and for most people is more than offset by the interest.

No, you're almost certainly getting more than 3% (in your way of looking at it).

Why? Because if you're going to include the account fee, you need to also include the cashback the account pays...it's only fair!

There will be some on here who are making more than £70 in cashback, so that's an additional net return of (at least) £46.

Fair enough then.....imagine the amount of extra money they could pay their customers if they did not use famous sports celebrities to advertise for them.......:D

You and pindalek should perhaps found a club. None of you seems to actually have your facts straight about Santander, and specifically the 123 account, but you are making derogatory remarks about the account and the bank.

Apply for the account via a cashback site and you should be able to pick up enough cashback to pay for two or three years worth of the fee. £55 right now with Top Cashback, I've seen others mentioned they've signed up in the past with £70 cashback, so the offers do change.

The 123 credit card is available with £15 cashback on Quidco - and if you are a 123 current account customer you won't be charged the fee for the first year.
