    A result.

I did not get the callback, so a black mark to Morgan Stanley for that. I called them again today and eventually spoke to manager Paul Callendar (sp?) who told me that the system was supposed to be updated on 17th May but that update was pulled at the last minute because it would have broken something else. He said that he would manually add the cashback as a credit to my account. He confirmed the rates as follows:

3% - first £2000 spend in the first three months since account opening
1.5% - any additional spending in the first three months
    0.5% - everything else

If a merchant bank can have computer problems like this it's more than worrying, but, as usual, talking to a human being far enough up the heirarchy to have some privileges has, I hope, resulted in the problem being sorted out.
Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.
  • Just called the Morgan Stanley number - now answer as Goldfish. Customer services rep confirmed that there was no change to my account and that I was still getting the cashback deal as before. :j

Part of the Furniture 10,000 Posts Name Dropper I've been Money Tipped!
MS messed up on my cashback a couple of months ago and basically have left me in a position that it is not worth closing the account until I spend extra to get up to the £15 multiple. I phoned about this and was told by a very helpful guy that he agreed with my figures but they had been experiencing problems with their system, so he would add the cashback to my account manually. However, he couldn't add it to my cashback figure, just to the account, so of course although I have been reimbursed with the money there is still a shortfall on my cashback total. I am putting off applying for a Capital One cashback card until I get my cashback reimbursed by MS.
Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time
