advice on car accident

i have just got home and have seen that someone has hit the front of my car. the side panel is bady scratched drivers side and front panel has been lofted off a bit showing the the staple type things that i guess are normally holding the front panel to the car. its a mobility car that i have only had since august and have already had one accident where a driver just drove into the front of me. this time though i dont know how, when or where. i have been out all day and have been parked in 2 supermarket carpets and some on street parking. the damage could have happened at any of these places and i just didnt see the damage and obviously didnt leave their details. when i ring the insurance company in the morning how do they generally handle things when i can only be so vague? i feel really stupid that i can give so little information and am dreading ringing them. what type of things will they ask me? will they want to know the addresses of where i was parked? will they even go as far as trying to get photos of any street cameras or cameras that they have in ca parks or have i just been watching too much tv detective shows?

I don't think they'll ask you any of the questions that you are worrying about.
It was just damaged whilst unattended - unknown culprit. It really is an every day thing, sadly.0 -
thanks, well i called them this morning and what they said was if the car was fit to drive and only just cosmetic i could leave it as it is. or i would need to pay the excess of £75 as it would be treated the same as if i had done the damage myself. but i would feel happier to have it checked so that is what i am going to do just in case so thanks again0

If the damage is minor I really wouldn't have bothered telling the insurer. You will now have to declare an "incident" whenever you get an insurance quote for the next 5 years, which will increase your premiums. We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
The earth needs us for nothing.
The earth does not belong to us.

i rang my insurance people this morning and told them what had happened, what little i knew and they said if it were merely cosmetic damage and safe to drive i could either carry on driving it and just send it back as normal at the end of the 3 yr turnaround through motability, or i could have it repaired and without a culprit i would be treated as such and would need to pay £75 excess. as it looks kind of hanging off i thought it best to check so rang dealership and they are going to take a look at it on sunday morning so all i can do for now is just sit tight, thanks for your replies. i will update once i have had it seen.
guess who wont be getting their £250 bonus for keeping car in such a good condition at the end of the 3 yrs??0 -
as i said in my earlier message, i know that i have to pay the excess of £75 as i dont know who damaged the car. a friend of mine has just said that i also have to pay motability for the whole repair too!!! this i know will be expensive as from what i gather from who have seen it not only will i need a new driver side panal but also the front too!!! does anyone know if this is true?0
