We've moved into a new flat, and we can't for the life of us seem to find 'eco mode' on the new boiler! Even the instruction manual is confussing and doesn't seem to explain/say it.
We want the boiler to not heat the water up constantly, just when we use it, as we hear it coming on numous points at night/in the day warming the water in the tank, but as we don't use much water we don't need this.
So, does anyone know if all boilers have this? ours is, Vaillant ecotech pro 24. (youd think by the name its eco, but it doesnt seem like it!)

Is it the combination version? If so, the the hot water is heated on demand only. Only a small amount is kept heated for instantaneous hot water. It'll also switch on at times for self test purposes. The only way of stopping it is to turn the boiler off, which is not recommended in general use.
It sounds like you are more used to a hot water tank/cylinder where you can decide when you want it heated and use it up until it turns cold.0 -
You can switch off the "warm start" function which will mean the boiler is no longer keeping the small water tank hot.0

If the above doesn't match the boiler, Vaillant have changed from dials to buttons to control settings, this instruction booklet is for the revised model.

Just used them guys (theyre not 100% like our boiler, our boiler has two control knobs and a little screen and that's it) but it says to turn the hpt water control knob, ours of which is broken and stuck on high, been waiting for the letting agent to get back to us for over a week but nothing yet -.-
Kind of understand how to do it now, and it is the 'warm start' thanks guys.
Just for reference, our boiler is combiSave, save, save, save.0
