Tesco Broadband nightmare

Hi all,

Just had to post this. Have had a terrible two months dealing with Tescos Home Phone and Broadband.

I decided mid January 2013 that I would try to find a cheaper supplier for my home phone and broadband.

Because I live in quite a rural area of Dorset, I did'nt have alot of choice of suppliers. But Tesco came up with not an incredibly cheap offer, but cheaper than BT so thought I would give it a go.

Well.....I did'nt start well. Tescos told BT to cut off my homephone and Broadband 7 days before they were ready to supply me or even sent me their Welcome pack with Router. So I had to be without a phone or BB for 7 days .

Eventually at the end of January I got it all set up, only then to find that the BB speed was absolutely horrendous. I swear dial-up used to be quicker. It was so bad it would'nt even load photo's on Ebay :o.

So we struggled with it for a few weeks, hoping it would settle down and speed up, but nothing changed.

I rang up Tesco to discuss the problem and there was apparently nothing they could do for me, so I told them I would be tranferring back to BT.

BT requested a MAC code to transfer my supply over. That then sparked a 15 day battle with Tesco's trying to get a MAC code out of them. I had a cataolgue of excuses from Cable & Wireless won't supply you a MAC code as they claim I don't need one, to the computer keeps coming up with a fault, I will request it again :mad::mad::mad:.

Then to add insult to injury, on the 3 March my broadband stopped working and I had a strange dial tone on my phone.
I rang up the Tesco's faults department, who could'nt apparently find a problem. After I explain the problems I have having, the guy I was speaking to said he had a MAC code showing on his screen if I wanted it :eek::eek::eek:.
So I took the MAC code and rang BT, who then claimed they did'nt need it anymore because Tesco had cut off my service....

Can you beleive it.......After 15 days I finally get a MAC code only then to not bloomin need it because they have disconnected me. (Please also note that through all of this they were taking my Direct Debit so it was'nt a non payment issue).

I rang the manager I had been dealing with to express my disgust, she said she would look into it, but surprise surprise I never got a call back.

Finally since the 3rd March, Today i am online again with BT and I am never daring to move my broadband again. (The speed is fantastic)

I have had soooo much stress from Tesco's that I just had to recount my experience here. I cannot imagine I am the only person that has experienced this catalogue of disasters and bad service.

Tesco should definately stick to selling food.....
