If you search the site you will find that many suggest FU is not the best company to join.

Not particularly useful, as there are also suggestions not to join BG, EDF, Eon, nPower, SSE, SP, Ebico, Ecotricity, Ovo, Spark, Utilita, UW, etc

Maybe you could recommend a good candle maker?

How many cashback sites do you know of?

I suggest you check Quidco & topcashback,

Or try the MSE Cashback Maximiser :)

Also try the comparison sites via the special MSE links to see if any of those will allow you to switch via them :)

Unfortunately the one I know has set sail in a tub along with the butcher and the baker.

PS I'm sure mentioning the company that shall not speak its name in a non authorised thread is against the rules.

I agree with Penryn - having been a customer of this company from early May to November 2012 my advice is not to touch them with something even longer than a bargepole. I misread my gas meter when I first joined up, and it took countless emails plus 'phone calls/letter and MONTHS to get it resolved. Despite the impression given by their marketing, when you submit readings you still get billed a standard amount every month, and have to complain to get this adjusted (downwards). So-called 'customer services' are a complete waste of time - all you get is meaningless garbage about how they're sorting things out: if you do need to complain, do so to 'Customer Affairs' when you may at least feel there's a real person at the other end. Even after they finally agreed to settle the issue by writing off the (minimal ) outstanding balance, their Credit Control system continued to send 'chasing' emails for weeks (the last only recently)!
