So, I applied for the Barclaycard initial this afternoon, it's terms of acceptance are:
-You’re 18 or older
-You have no credit history
-Your financial situation has improved over the last 12 months
-You have not been declared bankrupt in the last 12 months
-You’ve had no County Court Judgments or Individual Voluntary Arrangements in the last 12 months
-You don’t already have a Barclaycard
-You’ve lived at your address for at least 3 months
-You are in regular employment
So, I'm 24, Have some credit history, My situation has improved over the past 12 months, Not bankrupt, one CCJ from 2008, Last default was in early 2009, do not currently have a barclaycard, Lives at my address for nearly 2 years and work full time.
I was declined because:
- I have a CCJ
- I have a default less than 12 months, all CRA's have the date of 2009 as the LAST default.
- I've missed a payment in the last 12 months - not true.
I understand that they didn't mention about defaults, but as they have said you can't apply unless you're CCJ is over 12 months old, I assumed a three year default would be OK.
I have 4 defaults from between 2007 - 2009. I have two orange contacts (had them for a year) and a credit card which I've had for 9 months, always paid off each month.
Am I missing something or am I aiming too high, too quickly?

They are just telling you when you definitely won't get one.
They aren't saying if you can tick that list you will get one .
It will still depend on credit scoring. The amount and age of the defaults will be a factor. Time will heal.
Didn't you try the application checker first ?0
