Do you know what...I'm going to be ever the optimist here and say whatever the weather is someone will make a comment, either its too hot or too cold, could have been brighter etc etc but thats guests and sometimes family for you.....but for you and your husband I expect you will look back after the event and say it was the most perfect day of your lives...so actually the weather wont matter a jot....and your only long term complaint will be that the day happened too quickly!

Knowing British weather forecasters it probably won't even snow!!! You will have a fab time though even if it does, photos will look great and at least people will remember it!!!

A couple of years ago I was best man at a wedding that had issues with fairly sudden severe snow.
The bridesmaid and myself had a 100 mile drive on the morning of the wedding in an unexpected blizzard. The wedding went ahead on schedule, apart from a light flurry of snow (which looked gorgeous in the photos) the photos went ahead in dry weather and look stunning, the snow added a magical feel. The 100 mile drive back to the reception was accomplished by luck and the grace of the Deities. The couple being blissfully unaware of the conditions.

Talking to the couple two weeks ago about my wedding plans the subject changed to their memories of their wedding. What they remember was a wonderful day, the snow provided an extra dimension to the photos and an extra excuse to not go out of the honeymoon hotel.

I hope your day goes without a hitch and the snow makes enough of show to add sparkle to your wedding photos (and no more than that).

The only advice I can offer (apart from enjoying your day) is if possible arrange for hot drinks to be available during or after the photographs.

Big Hug to you x People making such comments are just silly. Come on, we are in England, expecting the weather to be nice and pleasant, just because it would be convenient is unrealistic. If you want to be assured nice weather, you go abroad (and risk paying even more and get very unlucky!).

We decided to get married mid-September because there are usually very pleasant days, but I don't hold on to the hope that it will be the case for a second.

Ignore those making such comments, they are just being selfish. As you've said, what matters is that everyone can make it. It might not be what everyone expected, but it could be absolutely magic under the snow. Have a wonderful day xx

    Hi everyone.

My wedding is in 2 days and it's forecast to snow!! heavily!! I'm actually ok with this as long as everyone can get up here, as let's face it it's much prettier than it raining, but I'm just so fed up of everyone else talking about it :(

I've already been in tears twice because family etc have been going on about how much of a shame it is and how cold everyone will be etc etc. All I keep thinking is BIGGER PICTURE?!?

So I just need a hug :( my OH is at work and I'm feeling so rubbish :(

Has anyone had a wedding where it snowed and can offer any advice...?

Those that want to be there will make the extra effort to be there I am sure...it might take some people a little longer to travel and there may be a few that cant quite make it...but where there is a will there is a way as they say....

There was a bride on the form a couple of years go who suffered very badly with snow...and as a result on the day very few of her guests were able to turn up...although her groom did so they tied the knot and there was something that prevented everyone getting to her reception...so if I remember rightly a much smaller "celebration " happened in a local pub....I think everything was covered by insurance and she then went on to redo the wedding 6 months later in the summer...at the time I think she was gutted...but in honesty the photos were absolutley amazing!!!...I think shes still around popping in various threads so you never know she might pop by and share her experiences with you ...or at least a few pics

Best of luck for the big day...what will be will be and whatever happens enjoy it whatever the weather.

It was fly dragon fly's wedding - and in my opinion they are some of the best wedding photos I have ever seen.

Ooops forgot to share the thread!!

Hugs, hope everything goes well regardless of the weather.

I'm getting married next January and I really WANT snow, even suggested a snow machine to my OH if there's none forecast :)

I got married on 26 January this year in a castle and we had snow and it was brilliant! The photo's were magical. It did take people rather longer to travel but they all made the effort, and for that we were eternally grateful.

I know you've had your day now and I bet it was the best day of your life regardless.x
