Parking Eye PCN

thanks for that advice. I took the soft worded option and went with"I’m writing reference the above Parking Eye Parking Charge Notice Reference XXXX/XXXX for parking at the XXXX on XXth March 2013."
I have received the notice as I am the registered keeper of the vehicle in question.
I’m unsure as to why I have received this request for payment as the driver was simply a patron of the Hotel, bought drinks at the bar, and when parking saw no signs from you so entered absolutely no contract with your company and there was no loss or damages caused either.
I’ve checked on the hotel website and it does indeed say that there is a £4 a day parking charge. This was not immediately obvious upon parking to the driver, and nor was the driver made clear of the potential for a parking charge when at the bar when buying drinks.
I’m happy to make a payment of £5 to the hotel in question in good faith and as a reasonable offer to resolve the matter in full and final settlement and with no admission of wrong-doing at all.
I’ve also been advised to ask that you please provide me with a validation code for POPLA if you want to take this matter further?
which I felt was polite but didn't admit to liability as the driver and requested the POPLA code which apparently they have to submit.
I got the below as an auto response from themThank you for contacting ParkingEye.
For your appeal to be considered, please include, at the top of your email the reference number, vehicle registration, your name, address and post code and any supporting information to assist with your appeal, such as a store receipt from the day in question, proof of purchase via a bank statement etc. (If you have already provided this information there is no need to respond to this auto-email)
If this required information is missing your appeal may not be dealt with.
If you cannot attach supporting information to the email, then please send a written appeal to:
PO Box 565,
Chorley,
PR6 6HT
Please be aware that ParkingEye will respond in writing only by letter and not by email. We endeavour to respond to all appeals as soon as possible, however you may not receive your written response by letter for up to 10 days.
If further information is required the Parking Charge will be placed on hold to enable any further correspondence to be considered and during this time the Parking Charge amount will not increase.
Alternatively, to make a debit/credit card payment please telephone 0844 247 2981 or online at *URL REMOVED*
I'm sure they'll reject my appeal on the grounds that I'm not going to supply any of that information, but is this a change to their appeals process do you know?0 -
That's their standard auto-response and as long as you've included a name and postal address and the ticket number you just need to wait and see, they'll probably send you an auto reject letter with the reference 'EYE01' or similar obvious template 'computer says no' rubbish.
Just to mention that Parking Cowboys have been working on a template challenge letter which I partly based mine on:
http://www.parkingcowboys.co.uk/appeal-letter/
Theirs has lots more legal challenge points!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Alternatively, to make a debit/credit card payment please telephone 0844 247 2981 or pay online ....Businesses using 084, 087 or 09 numbers will soon need to display details of the inbuilt Service Charge under Ofcom's "unbundled tariffs" plans.
Businesses using 084, 087 or 09 numbers for customer service, complaints, renewals, etc, will need to swap to an 01, 02, 03 or 080 number before the Consumer Rights Directive comes into effect June 2014.0
