  • Why is it that everyone elses meals sound so much nicer than my own lol, as i read through them i keep jotting ideas down maybe for next week. I'm trying to use up as much as i possible can in my freezer/cupboards as they're literally full and next month the shop i work in is closing for 2 weeks for a refurb and everything goes to half price so i want to stock up (well my mother will be doing the shopping as employees aren't allowed to get anything on the day), and i only really cook anything decent on my 2 days off, as other days when im working i usually take packed lunches in, and then have something quick when i get in.

Anyways, so far so good really, Friday i did steer off track cos i bought some reduced pizza and wedges from the spar by me, so i had a pizza instead, but i had fridays meal yesterday, and yesterdays meal today lol, and todays meal ill probably end up having tomorrow so im just pushing my meals back by a day lol.

Hope everyone else is doing well with their plans :)

Hello everyone, what a great thread, here's mine. I'm putting in some costs/explanations as it helps me focus and move more into money saving/home cooking frame of mind . . .

Monday: Waitrose pasta parcels (£1.85 bought with gift of vouchers) between 3 with Co-op garlic bread which was on offer at 3 for £1. Salad from Basics iceberg lettuce, cucumber, red pepper, grated carrot and onion and not extortionately priced bagged salad that I've mostly bought over the years. Hm pasta sauce from tomatoes, onion, mushrooms and basil.

Tuesday: mushroom/red pepper omelette, added ham for one daughter/beans and cheese on toast for other daughter.

Wednesday: chicken chasseur made with Waitrose chicken fillets out of vouchers and tin of YS sauce from Sainsbury's. Use up brown rice.

Thursday: Waitrose vouchers steak, use up 3 different packets of nearly empty oven chips found lurking at back of freezer, hm wedges from then on (far nicer!)

Friday fish pie made with 1 piece of salmon, 1 piece of cod (both found in freezer when I did stocktake yesterday) YS prawns. Need to buy potatoes.

Saturday: if don't head for Wales, YS reduced fat burgers and hm wedges.

Sunday, if at home, YS turkey joint (£1.75) with baked potato, frozen peas and fresh veg.

Hi Mrs C, is this still on offer do you know? it would be good to put away for DD. Also was it in the fresh section or frozen? Better if fresh as i can make smaller and freeze.

    Thanks.
