Friend wants to buy a house at 19 (PLEASE HELP)

The most he'd be able to lend realistically is 5x his salary which would be 120k. You work out what else he'd need from that. If he can get 80k from a relative why even consider the assisted purchase scheme.
He is always banging on about this money, but says his grandmother ideally wants him to have it in stages, 21, 25, 30 and so on.
If he can persuade her that it will go directly on the house that i'm sure she would agree to it.
What do you people think about this house in particular/development, worth it in this area? I think so.

overpriced/underpiced? in a good area.0 -
i think he/you are either winding us up, or nuts - you wont be talked out of the fact that there is very little chance he could get a mortgage for that amount, let alone keep on top of the mortgage, maintenance and bills! surely if it is just him, he'd be better starting off small (in a little flat or something) and then upgrading when he needs to!?
all very odd if you ask me - especially the idea of 'photoshopping' wageslips and bank statements in order to get the money!!January Wins - Gangster Squad Goodies, Sun Lotion
February Wins - Wombles Goody Bag, Ideal Home Show Tickets, Lunch on Cruise Ship
March Wins - 2night family break to legoland, outfit from Kaleidoscope, Iron Cleaning Stck.
2013 aims - Ipad, Iphone, Family Holiday.0 -
Are you quite sure that 'your friend' isn't you?0

Look at Acocks Green, it's about a mile from that estate and you (your friend lol) can buy a 3 bed house for about £120k.0

Provable as in bank statements, wageslips? He is very good a photoshop. He picks up over 1400 a month.
Let's say the mortgage is 700 - 1000? He has £400 a month left, he walks to work. Bills 200 a month, has 200 disposable income left.
Obviously a lender will see this as strain and most likely will default but he's willing to sacrifice a lot of things in order for it to work.
it sounds like your 'friend' has never had to pay bills or lived independently!0 -

Google 'mortgage fraud'. :rotfl: Try living away from home and actually paying bills like an adult, your estimate is below the official poverty line, hell it's below Jobseeker's Allowance. He is always banging on about this money, but says his grandmother ideally wants him to have it in stages, 21, 25, 30 and so on.

Google 'elder abuse' or financial exploitation.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
and of course there's furniture to buy along with a host of household items. No way will he be afford to live even if someone was crazy enough to lend him the money0

836 square feet for a 3 bed?! That is ridiculously small. Our 1 bed is 815 sq ft and we are moving into a new build 3 bed that is 1250. "Your friend" would do better to get a 2 bed at that size, will save money for having fewer bedrooms.0 -
I think people should stop replying to this thread. It has to be a wind-up with comments about photoshop and entitlements made to try to get under peoples skin!!!0
