have booked holiday with On the beach. flying with ryainair

have put daughters name as helen instead of ellen

just gone into my account at on the beach and they charge £30 administration plus what ever the airlines charge to amend details

it also says i need to give additional passenger information 14 days before we go so would they have passed this information on yet?

wondering if i could change the spelling at point of online checking in???

or even would she be allowed on with such a small mistake???

just checked and it says

£110.00 Operator fee for changing passengers
£60.00 On the Beach administration fee

£170 Total.

:(

Have you tried speaking to them? There is a difference between changing details and correcting a typo and some wont charge for typo corrections.

I wouldn't even bother trying to change it TBH

The travel person at work spells my surname incorrectly every now and then, no one has ever bothered mentioning it or probably noticed it.

Give On the Beach a ring. I booked a family holiday with Air Malta the other day and put in my granddaughter's surname as my own! It was only as I pushed the button to pay I realised but then it was too late.

I phoned their customer service department to explain. I had to scan a copy of her birth certificate to them but they changed it without any cost.

    Good luck.

All the fees are when you want to actually change the person travelling rather than correct mistakes. The only one in the grey area tends to be honeymooners who excitedly book in the married name forgetting that they wont have had time to change their passport.

You can take the risk that people dont spot it but with all the advanced passenger information etc they tend to be getting a bit tighter

You would be lucky to find an airline that allows name changes they are few and far between.
There is generally a cost to correct a name, sometimes depends on how many letters you got wrong and if the ticket has been issued.
That is until and if the EU proposals get passed.

What airlines don't allow name changes? I don't look out for it, but I've never noticed any specifically banning it (though most charge extortionate fees).

Most full-service carriers don't (BA, Air France, Lufthansa, etc).
