BT Infinity streaming issues

Hi all,

Recently I am experiencing issues in streaming; eg internet radio, youtube, etc on my BT Infinity fibre optic internet.

The most prominent case has been when using Tunein app on iPhone when listening to BBC radio: every few minutes or so the sound is cut and app starts buffering; so annoying when you are listening to radio! Previously I had not had any issues. This happens when the iPhone is literally next to the router. I keep checking the speed and connection and it never reports any speed less than 37 Mbps; completely strange and I always find the wireless connection quite stable. (I have ditched HH3 with a Netgear N Router as I HH3 was next to useless IMO).

Also sometimes I see Youtube buffering. This is very strange given the constant 37 Mbps report from both Speedtest and also BT's own speedtest?

Got on the phone with BT technical support and they said as I am not using HH3 they do not offer any support.

The only network layout change I can think of is that I have connected a powerplug to the router, which is connected to another powerplug, connected in turn to a network switch which feeds Sky box, Bluray player, & PS3. The powerplug connected to the network switch is usually off as it gets turned on automatically using smart switches when I turn the TV on. But this shouldn't cause any issue to streaming when the other powerplug is off?

Any suggestion how I can track down the issue?

(Have not checked the issue with wired connection because Speedtest result have always come back satisfactory).

Thank you all.

revert to the HH3 and see if the problem still exists with the Original equipment - as this gives you more scope to pursue with BT.

Other than that any wifi interference round the house? use inssider to see if any channel issues in your house (other wifi points having a 'surge').. cordless phones, baby monitors, Microwaves can all cause minor disruptions but may not be as trackable..

What happens with streaming to pc's? or anything thats wired.. as iphones \ ipads can have occaisonal drops or may not buffer as much..

It seems that it is the issue with BBC-sourced radio streaming ... I don't have any problems with any streaming services! All of the connections are stable wireless.
