PPI claim and credit searches

Hi there,
I did a quick search but couldn't find the answer to my specific query.
I have just received a letter from Lloyds informing me I may have been miss sold PPI on a loan I had. I have known that this may have been the case but due to my own inaction I had not yet done anything about it.
I am slightly wary of going through the process at this moment as I am planning to buy a house in the near future and I don't know if there will be any credit searches (or anything that could affect my credit worthiness) that could affect a mortgage application.
If anyone has any info it would be gratefully received.
Thank you for your time.

There are no credit searches. Also, you are now on a ticking clock as those letters Lloyds sent out allow them to start the timebar clock. Act on it before you barred.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. Just thought I would post a quick update.
I got £680 back from Lloyds on a small loan I took out a few years back
This site and forum has been a great help - I'm now about to submit a claim for my credit card.
Many thanks to you all!Started saving January 2011
