Tunisia?

Options
Hi All,

Looking to go on holiday early May

Package deal, all inclusive, dont mind where we go as long as weather is reasonable and there is a nice pool/beach

Tunisia seems to have some great deals - has anyone been?

Or is there anywhere else you would recommend for a beach holiday?

Hi, I went many years ago mid July, way way too hot for us. Probably May would be less hot. Lovely place though, hotel was spotless (Sahara Beach Monastir). Hope you have a great time!

We went in September last year, and had such a good time that we're going back next week with the kids, woo hoo! :j

Check out the Tripadvisor forums, there's loads of info about each different area where you can stay. If you are looking for beach/pool then probably Port el Kantaoui might be a good option, we are staying in Sousse.

I booked flights and hotel separately, but you could look at Teletext holidays to get an idea of prices.

Would also recommend the 2 day sahara trip, but it's not ideal if you've got young kids.

We enjoyed it, we were brave and went to Tunis, Carthage, Sidi Bou Said on the train on our first trip, then to El Jem on the train on our second trip.

We stayed at Riu Bellevue Park both times, we thought it was a really good hotel.

I went to the Sahara Beach hotel in Skanes 3 times when I was a kid. :j

I love it, been going to Hammament in Tunisia on and off for the last 13 yrs, - my daughter (now 10) loves it as well.

If you go to Hammamet - theres 2 tourist areas Yasmine Hammamet - newer, purpose built resort, but to walk to the beach you could be as far away as 15 min walk (my opinion) not a true representation u could be in the middle of Spain, most hotels have great pools

Hammamet - older buildings, great character, a lot are beach front hotels, beaches are great, swimming pools gd, - I've stayed in about 6 different hotels over the years.
Great value all inclusive - not far from main tourist area - cheap in Taxis,

    xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

I def agree the 2 day Sahara trip is a must - it gives you a top to tail trip of the country, - and great experience riding a camel.

Some trips such as the Frigrai (the animal zoo) - not been before go on the afternoon trip and see the zulu warriers

If u need any info on hammamet etc - give me a pm and if I can help I will x

We've been to the Sahara Beach twice and had a great time. We were unlucky with the weather in June (cloudy, windy and a little rain) but got a better tan in November :) Very clean hotel and helpful staff. We've also been to the Houda (a couple of hotels up the coast) which was smaller and older but still good.

If you do go you HAVE to visit El Jem, it's amazing, and the 2 day trip to the Sahara was a good way to see and learn about the country.

We're going in May - any tips for currency - I understand we can't buy before we go, so what's the best approach when we arrive?
We're on an all inc package deal, so don't imagine we'll need lots of cash, but if it's anything like egypt, it'll be tip tip tip everywhere you go.
