Hi, hope this is the right forum. I have a Miele cat & dog hoover, I have to admit I hve never changed the filter & today it started making a terrible racket and seems like it's blowing the casing up that houses the dustbag and filter and it wont shut properly when hoover is on.
I just found a review online where people have had this problem but buyng a new filter has not rectified it, just wondering if any of you on here own one and can advise?
thanks

I have one but haven't had the issue you have. Worth changing the filter anyway, just to try. How old is it? I managed to get 10yr warrantee parts and labour for £300

It's blocked because you have failed to maintain the filter. Wash or replace it (in fact wash or replace both filters, there are at least two), or you'll kill the motor, if you haven't already.
When the filter is blocked the motor airflow is reduced and will eventually burn it out.
These are excellent quality machines, but like any vacuum cleaner, they simply won't last long if you don't do the basic maintenance-the filter should be cleaned at least every 3 months. It's a five minute job.
All those Dysons you see at the local tip are there for the same reason-the motors burn out because the filters are not washed regularly. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Has something gone up the hoover that shouldnt have? My daughter hoovered up a sock with our Miele and it made a right racket! Had to take it to bits to locate the sock. Just a thought..0
