If you're that worried then call the police and complain that he has made threats of violence against your husband.

That should put some distance between you.

Trading Standards will give you advice, but wont help you take him to court.

If it went to court, i would guess you would lose, as you need to give the builder an oppertunity to retifie his work, at his cost.

This started with your hubby SLAGGING the builder off to you b-i-law, i would think he would be peed off?Better to have had a quite word with the builder.

I would write him a letter stating your concerns about the tileing and try to come to some agrement.

The 1 thing you want to avoid is going to court, as it my cost you £k's and even if you win, and the builder has to pay his and your cost, he will just rap up the company and trade under a different name, many do.

Ps, have a nice holiday and try to forget about this, untill you get back.

no actually this started with builder doing cr*p job and the refusing to put it right unless we paid for it to be redone, long before hubby slagged him off
plus now we have had someone to take shower off so the tiler can come and re do the work and have been told its dangerous and hasnt been wired properly as the isolator button doesnt turn on and off its just on all the time, my god this goes from bad to worse, so thats now more money we have to pay out to get an electrician to do it properly-its a nightmare

Make sure you get a receipt for any monies you do pay him and tell him another relative of yours works at the inland revenue. That oughta do it!

sorry plastering was for bathroom and bedroom, and yes he is and thanks thats the first time ive laughed in 2 weeks!

sounds a bit more reasonable for 2 rooms. had it been for the bathroom it would have been a rip off!
