We are going in a couple of months, a package booked with Thomas cook. Do we have to pay departure and arrival tax?
If yes what currency and how much is it please?
(should say Jamaica in the title but I can't edit it!)

You pay $US40 on arrival, and the departure tax is J$1800 so about $US18/20 depending on the exchange rate. You can pay in USD, JMD, or GBP.0

We were in Jamaica in January and didn't pay any tax on arrival or departure. I assumed both were built into the price of the airline ticket.
OP, you might want to check just in case I'm wrong but we definitely didn't pay any departure or arrivals taxes.0 -
Thats why I asked on here as I have been told about 5 different things, and my travel agent doesn't know either.

We flew American Airlines out of Miami and back to Miami from Montego Bay, having flown to Miami via BA. We definitely didn't pay any taxes on arrival or departure and when we've been to other Caribbean islands, the taxes have been built into the airfare.
I am surprised a travel agent doesn't know the answer, have you tried Trip Advisor forums for Jamaica? they're usually very helpful on there. Have you asked Thomas Cook, you could give them a call if you haven't already. Holiday truths is another website that might be able to help, try their forums.0 -
It does depend on the airline. The scheduled normally include the taxes in the prices of the ticket. The UK charters don't.0

We flew to Jamaica with Virgin in 2008 and it was included in the price.0
