This is probably the simplest problem you've been asked to solve. I'm posting on the Techie thread as there doesn't seem to be a Dunces thread:rotfl:. I'm still stumbling towards being even halfway computer-literate:o .
My printer/scanner is on the blink and I want to upload some listings to eBay tomorrow and need pics. I've seen suitable ones on various websites/other listings and don't think I'd be breaching copyright to use them. Problem is how to get them from the sites they are on into my listings on Turbolister. I only want the pics not any of the text.
Sorry if this is so obvious even a 5-year old could do it:eek: . All help/advice very gratefully received,

Hi
Thought i should warn you of the following ebay policy that could get your listings removed if you use other people's pics (if you have a look at the ebay board on here you'll find quite a few threads on it)
eBay members are not allowed to use another eBay user's pictures or descriptions in their listings or About Me pages without the owner's permission.
Breaches of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:
Listing cancellation
Loss of eBay fees
Limits placed on account privileges
Loss of PowerSeller status
Account suspension
Examples
A seller doesn't know the best way to describe an item. The seller copies a substantial amount of another member’s description and pastes it into a listing.
A seller uses someone else's picture and includes it in a listing, since it looks very similar to the item the seller is offering.
A seller likes the way a competitor's About Me page looks. The seller copies the look and feel and a substantial amount of the text and creates an About Me page
Thought letting you know might save you some hassle in the long run"A bargain is something you can't use at a price you can't resist." Franklin Jones0 -

Many thanks for the warning. I'd hate to fall foul of the eBay police:eek:0 -

Yep, I would be carful in using other peoples pictures or sometime part of text.(i dont know how many ways you can list spec:rolleyes: )
I listed a item recently as i didnt take a photo and copied some spec beacsue it was the same item, and on the last day of auction ebay cancelled my auction due to some breach. Im not sure if it was the picture or some text but obviously some plonker reported it.
Had to relist the whole thing again and obviously wait longer for the listing to finish. Couldnt believe it, yet you can type in any expensive mobile phones and see numerous fradualent listings not cancelled.0 -
Thanks for that, Millionaire. Sorry to hear of the trouble you had, but hope the wait was worth it and your stuff sold for a great price:beer: .
I've often seen chunks of text lifted directly from other's listings and seen obviously copied pics loads of times on eBay. I'd have been wary about copying other people's text myself but sometimes the pics look as if they've been taken from a website or something and not photographed directly by the seller IYKWIM
. That's why I thought it was probably OK. I won't do it now though and will have to wait until my scanner etc is working again. Drat:mad: 0
