Vinyl for kitchen/bathroom - Fair ?
Somerset

Local flooring shop in central London. Kitchen 250cm * 70cm, Bathroom 150cm * 130cm. So both tiny rooms. The good vinyl there is about £25 per meter. The stuff I picked is about £18 per meter , down from £25 cos it's end of line. Verbal quote there was £250 + VAT. He did say the vinyl cost was prob £80, the rest was the fitting. Company came out for a 'look see'. Bloke thought they'd have to board the floors 'no problem luv '. Written quote now received for £310 + VAT.
I realise most of the cost is in the fitting and their time - but £310 + VAT seems extortionate to me. They are tiny rooms. Or is it me that's being a numpty ?

I can't speak for London but in our area we've got an independent fitter who 'll do my smallish bathroom for £35. I've paid £25 per metre for my good quality vinyl too.Do not allow the risk of failure to stop you trying!0

im having vinyl fitted 9ft by 9ft conservatory for £35 fitting charge, i think they charge extra if they have to fit boards.:ASexy_fufu:A0

Well £310 less £80 (vinyl ) less £10 ( boarding ) means the fitting charge is £220. I know central London is expensive but I think this is taking the michael.0

I agree, if plywood needs to be fitted, labour charge should be about £120 tops.0
