I recieved my phone bill and to my shock it was huge, to be precise £327.76 and as i hardly use the phone i had trouble working it out. Basically my daughter regually does reverse charge on me when she is out and needs picking up ect , i thought that i would simply be paying for the cost as i would if i had rang off my phone but alas NO. The actual cost of 15 mins and 03 seconds worth of calls (21 in all) came to a grand total of £71.578 probally the most expensive 15 mins ive ever had. So after speaking to BT this morning and being told there is no legal requirement to inform users just how expensive it is ive decided to post here in the hope of warning others so they dont get ripped off, reguards sam

Welcome to the MSE forums aqua_d5. Sorry to hear of the circumstances of your arrival here.
I'm afraid the standard (BT version) of Reverse Charge calls is very expensive - as you have found out in the worst way possible.
So that you're not caught out in future by what appears to be a 'free' alternative, please have a read of THIS THREAD about 0800Reverse - the summary is AVOID IT!Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

It would be far cheaper for you to have a freephone number of your own!
You can have one for a 3 or 4p/min (maybe cheaper), so you can see how much they're raking in!0 -
Welcome aqua,
