legal aid

I am a single parent on benefits. In the past i have received legal aid to take my ex to court! He hasnt seen or paid maintenance for our daughter in over 15mths. I hav'nt needed to see my solicitor for about 9mths as my ex has been very quiet, until recently! I have a feeling he will kick off in april when, so ive heard, legal aid will stop, making it difficult for me pay for a solicitor. Can anyone shed any light on this? Thanks.

Can the CSA not help? It's their job to chase the payments and if he has built up arrears they could send a debt collector in. If your ex is unemployed then he should still pay a minimum of £6 a week (last time i checked), which could be deducted from his benefits.
As for no contact, courts cannot force him to see your daughter.
Sorry, i don't know about legal aid stopping in April, but i really think you should settle this with the CSA and save yourself the stress of court.0 -

Hi
If on Benefits or Low Income you could be take your ex to Court..Read Booklet EX160A Court Fees...You can get it at https://www.justice.gov.uk0 -
Thanks guys! Im not interested in any money from him, and my daughter has just turned 11 and isnt bothered about seeing him. My concern is that he will cause trouble, start harrassing again which would mean i need a solicitor and therefore have to pay. This is how he works, anything to make me suffer.0

If he doesn't want contact, and you are not interested in pursuing him for maintenance, what is he going to be causing trouble? Or are you saying that he is likely to fight for contact? In that case, does this mean you are preventing it?
What happened last time you went to court?0
