I was a bit drunk at the time but there was 7 of us, some had chinese type stuff, some had mexican type stuff, i had a rib steak burger which was absolutely gorgeous. i think someone had a fishy type dish. Bottle of decent tasting wine was £5 when bought with 2 main courses and i don't think any of the meals were over a tenner a head.0 -
I'd recommend 2taps as well - it's opposite the new merchant hotel so you get a nice view, and you can sit and watch the world go by over a bottle of wine for as long as you like. You can take them down to see the new spire on st anne's when you're down that way too0

I've had some ropey experiences in the Morning Star.....foods always been good enough but service has been really poor. Been 3 times - first was fine, second time the two main courses were delivered to the table 15 mins apart and the 3rd time took more than 45 mins for both mains to arrive......really not impressed, complained and got discount both times but after that would never go back.
Also, lisyloo.......love the fact you recommended the foo king - possibly the best name for any business in Belfast!!!!Life in this world is, as it were, a sojourn in a cave. What can we know of reality? For all we can see of the true nature of existence is, shall we say, no more than bewildering and amusing shadows cast upon the inner wall of the cave by the unseen blinding light of absolute truth, from which we may or may not deduce some glimmer of veracity, and we as troglodyte seekers of wisdom can only lift our voices to the unseen and say humbly "Go on, do deformed rabbit again.....it's my favourite". © Terry Pratchett in "Small Gods"
