Automatic car £3kish budget
Dear all
Any advice on a cheap , automatic car to busy for about £3500.
I have a clio at the moment but it has been giving my endless problems and it is gettig quite dangerous to drive in!
I was thinking of a VW Polo. My mum would love an IQ but they are about £6,000. and I prefer to get a car cheaper if possible.
Any advice would be great.

Toyota Yaris
The Toyota Yaris T Spirit has sunroof, alloy wheels, air con and cd player with controls on the steering wheel. Any Toyota Yaris owned by a wealthy pensioner would be good e.g. one owner, full main dealer service history, low miles...there are a few around as they are popular with retired professionals.0 -

I am not even sure I can? I have tried with £300 thus far and the problem has just got worse!0 -
have a look at honda jazz as well as they are nice cars. It would be very difficult to find but if you can find 1.4tdci ford fiesta in automatic than that is totally recommended as it only costs £30 for full year tax and excellent mileage. If it ever got to the point where i have no money to eat. I would go to the police station and break something to get myself arrested. Atleast i would get a warm cell and food and if everyone who get SANCTIONED by the job center did that than the government would have to change there policy about sanctioning so many people on the work program.0

Somne posts appear to have been deleted but in brief consider a 1.6 Auto Honda Civic upto 2005 which will be within your budget. Bomb proof engine and reliabiity in general, great space and cheapish to run0

You could try the "British Car Auction" web site. They have auctions all over the Uk, there might be one near you. There are pros and cons from buying from an auction, that site does evaluate the body work on a car and gives you details about service history, you can view the log book and records in person too. You just can't test drive the car before you buy it. You can test drive a car like it though. If you saw a Toyota Yaris T Spirit automatic up for auction, look on autotrader for one like it selling at a garage, go and test drive that one, pretending to be interested in it.0

You can get much more for your money if you go for a slightly larger car.
Small automatics are also quite rare.
For that money I'd get a nice Saab 9-3 diesel auto, or perhaps a VW Passat. Both very frugal, well built and nice to drive.0
