Avoid peak season, you can get stuck in the traffic just getting in to Eden. Once there tho its a quality place.
Look out for the evening concerts staged there and if you like green stuff The lost gardens of Heligan should be on your list.

Heligan must be your trip out for the other day of the weekend without a doubt.

We went a couple of years ago to both, personally preferred Heligan but it depends what you are into.
It not far away from Eden either.

Note to self must visit Heligan again this year to see how far they have got with the restorations of it.

Fowey, about six miles from St Austell and Eden, is a beautiful place to visit and or stay in.

The Fowey Hotel is nice overlooking the estuary and sea. Am not sure of costs though.

  • Im on a conservation course in Merseyside and our group (around 10 students) want to visit Eden and Heligan we would need accommodation (cheap) and best way to get there ie hire a van, train etc. We only want to stay in the area for maybe 2 nights three days. Any ideas?

sevlow, book tickets for Eden in advance to avoid the queues, these are for open bookings. I'm from further west & don't go that far east much however Crantock Bay Hotel Here is an excellent place to stay, good food and beautiful views and do free tickets to Eden. Cornwall Tourist Site Here good for other places of interest although you can't beat a walk along the coastal path.

nature girl, YHA fairly cheap here list of hostels/backpackers here and here another alternative could be camping.
  • I don't even know what this Eden place is - sounds kinda Sci Fi ish.

It looks kinda Sci Fi ish as well, it was featured in one of the James Bond films, it's basically a series of geodesic domes filled with plants from around the world.

    Well worth a visit.
Just for one moment, thought I'd found my way.
