Do my bills and usage seem high to you?

OP, afew points.

On 18 Jan your gas tariff changed from a NoStanding Charge to one with a standing charge. With your consumption that should not make much difference unless they introduced a massive price increase at the same time, and as Pont said earlier they have estimated that you used more after that change.

Your gas is being billed as an imperial meter, check that that is what you have. It will be marked on the meter, cu ft for imperial, m3 for metric.

For the period 14 dec to 18 march you used 12607 kwh of gas, for the same period I used 7780 kwh, we are home all day so heating on for that time. That could be deemed quite high (depending on your meter check) so have you had excessive usage?

Your electric forms a smallish part of the bill and seems reasonable.

There are various ways to cut back on energy usage and we've a dedicated Energy Efficiency team who will be happy to help. Have a chat with these guys. Tell them about your property and appliances. They'll suggest ways you can save.

Ask for a copy of a booklet called '100 ways to save money by saving energy.' It's free and contains lots of useful advice.

As others have said, one area that swallows up energy is heating. Turning the heating down a little can save a lot. Our specialists will be able to tell you more about this and many other possible savings.
