I have taken a picture of the sign but I'm unsure how to upload?

It makes no reference to smart parking but does say about parking on grass verges. It says its town and city parking ltd. with the ldt scribbled out.

Unsure where I stand on this one!

All advice appreciated in this thread, thanks

Yep the 'Ltd' scribbled out ids the norm now, since they were temporarily banned by the DVLA from getting data they had to make some quick changes:

Honestly you could spend a whole weekend reading about how people have dealt with fake PCNs from this mob recently:

    Ok, thank you.

Just so I can sleep easy I'd just like to say in here what the signs say..

At the top it has the council gym logo then it says
    "Park in marked bays only,
A parking charge notice of £60 will be issued in the following circumstances:
    1. Failing to park in a marked bay
    2. Parking on double yellow lines
    3. Parking on the roadway, footpaths or grass verges
    4. Parking in a space reserved for Emergency vehicles
    5. Obstructing parking

If the parking charge notice is not paid within 14 days of issue of the notice, Town and City Parking (Ltd crossed out) will request the registered keepers (sic) details from DVLA for the purposes of recovery of the notice. If the parking charge notice is not paid within 28 days an additional £10 administrative charge will be levied.

This car park is private property and is managed by Town and City Parking on behalf of the owners. Vehicles left at owners risk."

Then a helpline number and address.

It says there its private property and there's no mention of smart parking although on the ticket it say smart parking is another trading name of Town and City Parking..

Do I just ignore any forthcoming correspondence? I suppose the feeling I have is as described about the authoritarian approach mentioned in various threads.

A bit of an update and another request for help please..

I got another letter from Smart saying it was now £60 instead of £30 which I ignored. Since then I've had two letters in the last week from Debt Recovery Plus Ltd saying that the charge is now £130 and if I don't pay by 27/06/2013 it will be passed on to their Solicitors and I would be likely taken to court etc with further costs likely to be incurred.

Help! I'm getting twitchy. There are threats that my credit score will be affected and so on.

I have read a few threads on similar along with the letters put up by Coupon-Mad which should make me more confident but I'm a sensitive boy ha!

    Thanks again

Help! I'm getting twitchy. There are threats that my credit score will be affected and so on. You need to understand how your credit score can be hit adversely. You need to lose in court and then not pay to get a ccj or any record on your file.

    Ok thanks again

I read on one of the pepipoo threads they advise you to appeal as mentioned is this thread but I have also read that once you get Debt Recovery Plus letters its beyind this. Is this right or is there still any value in an appeal?
