Capital One and credit score problems

Options

Could anyone give me some advice please.

In a nut shell ,my wife has had a credit card with Capitalone for a couple of years, 18 months ago she had a major operation and wasunable to work for 9 months. She contactedthe PPI company and sent off doctors letters to them as we were told verballyover the phone that everything was sorted. 6 months latter we had bailiffs knockingour door due to miss payments on her Capital one account. We hadn’t had any phonecalls or letters from Capital one.

We had to send the doctors letters ect all over again andnow the PPI company have paid up and the account is now paid in full andclosed.

The problem we have now is we have tried to change ourmortgage over to a different lender but Capital one put 8 miss payments on my wife’scredit score which was perfect before hand which in turn means we cant get anycredit and we cant change lenders.

My wife has spoken to them over the phone but they havepoint blank refused to remove the miss payments from my wife’s credit score.

Any idea what to do next??????

What was your statements showing for those 6 months between the claim being confirmed and the bailiffs knocking on the door?

Who was the insurer? Was it Capital One's or a standalone policy you bought?

Why did the insurer say they were late paying?

    Thanks for your speedy reply.

The account was showing default payments.

The insurer is one Capital One had appointed. The Insurerhas claimed they didn’t have any correspondences from us.

The insurer has paid in full now which sort of makes me think they knew they were in the wrong
