Building Control Certificate for Cavity Wall Insulation

We are close to exchange and have just heard back from our buyers solicitor requesting the Building Control Certificate for the Cavity Wall insulation, that was installed two previous owners ago, in 1999. We don’t have a copy of this, only the 25 year guarantee from the company, which no longer exists. Apparently it has been requested as this popped up on the local search and the buyers solicitor have the Building Control reference number for it.

This leads to two questions, if they already have the reference number for it, surely that will mean that it ‘passed’ Building Control, so there shouldn’t be an issue? (Has anyone ever heard of a Cavity Wall insulation failing building control, on a non-listed property?). If it didn’t pass surely this also would have been flagged in the search?

Are you able to obtain a duplicate copy of the Building Control Certificate for a Cavity Wall Insulation, like you can with a FENSA or from Gas Safe for Boiler installs?

You have a reference number - ask Building Control. They keep records going back a long time.
