self employment

Hi

I am 22, and recently started a self employed role for a market research company and i will need to register as self employed.. is it tricky to manage and will i lose a lot of money? apparently i could claim some NI back as well..

Sorry I am new to work and self employment.. been studying most of the time, almost finished uni now

Anything I could claim to help me with living costs?

Addressing the situation when you leave uni.
You may in some cases be able to claim JSA while self employed. This would not be the case if you're doing it full time.
Housing benefit/LHA and council tax benefit if you have a low income.
Working tax credits if you're doing enough hours per week, and are over 25, or have a disabled partner.
