Hi Tariq2009
Your post is very confusing, can you break it down and answer a few questions please?
Is it the electricity bill from the flat that you think is wrong?
Did Powergen use the reading that you gave them from when you moved out of the flat?
Was the 3 month bill until end of March of £242 to a real reading or was it estimated?
Did they reset your prepaid meter when you moved into the 3 bed house?
(it might be on the wrong prices)
Did the flat have electricity or gas heating?

Sorry About the confusing post

The bill from flat is wrong because they was charging me for one bed room flat around £85 a month.

Yes they use reading from the date I moved and I gave them but the thing I moved on 12th april and gave them reading on 15th april but they still charged me £85.53 for 12 days being in the property anyway I was paying them around £80 for a month which I was not happy about it but £85.53 for 12 days and they say that what you have used in 12 days there is nothing wrong with the bill.

According to them it is real that what it says on the bill.

3 bed room house where I moved in prepaid meter was reset by the scotish power and I am more less than I was paying to powergen

Electricity heating but never used it much because my wife don’t liked them she always used hot water bags. But if they going to say because you got electric heating that why your bill is High that is lie because what when my wife use to work from 9to 5 and I use to go to work from 6 till 8 why than they was charging around £80 a month you what they answered me that you are using same electric but the bill rates are gone up that why.Which is really wiered thing they said to me

Gas Heating0 -
From what I understand:
1. Your complaint is that you were paying £85 a month for electricity in a 1 bedroom flat and £85 for a few days in April.
2. The bills were not estimated.
3. The flat had Electricity only.
Unless you had Economy 7 storage heaters(and it sounds like you didn't) I am afraid it is not surprising that your bills were so high.
Heating with electricity on normal rates is by far the most expensive way to heat a property.(even hot water bags are heated by electricity)
You cannot compare electricity costs for an all electric flat during the winter, with a gas heated 3 bedroomed house in a very warm April.
Electricity costs 3 to 4 times more for heating than gas, and that includes the hot water you use.
Now you have moved from the flat there is nothing you can do about the bills anyway - and they were probably correct.0 -

No!
Used properly under the right conditions they are quite reasonable in running costs.
Do do have drawbacks in they 'leak' heat during the day and are expensive to 'top up' at daytime electricity rates; and incidentally you pay more for all daytime electricity.
Not as cheap as Gas CH and not as effective if you are in the house all day and need heat.
You also don't need to pay for expensive servicing/safety checks with storage heating.0 -

E7 storage heaters don't heat water - that would be the immersion heater in the hot water tank, probably in the airing cupboard."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0
