nuisance calls from consumer advice bureau

I'm pretty angry right now. Just had a telephone call from a foreign person claiming to be from somewhere called consumer advice bureau telling me they had information about a string of unsecured debts.
He asked me to confirm which I didn't but asked him to tell me what unsecured debts I have - I'm not aware I have any.
As I challenged him he started shouting at me and launched into a string of expletives and calling me all the names under the sun. I hung up.
I did 1471 and the number he'd called from was 0161 940 0135. I've googled but can't seem to find anything.
Does anyone know anything about this or has had similar experiences?

Possibly from a less reputable Debt Collection Agency trying to track down an absentee debtor by calling anyone with a similar name.

Not sure there is much you can do about it - if you read the debt free wannabe forums you will see that rude/harassing calls is the norm for many that have defaulted on debt.

Had 3 calls from the same number here today. They asked for someone who doesn't live here so on the third occasion I started saying that this was the third time today I had told them and they just hung up on me!! I tried ringing the number back to see who this rude individual was but the line just goes dead. Googled the number and there seems to be a lot of folks getting calls.
