For over 5,000 years llamas have been used as pack animals - in fact the Incas built their mighty empire on the back of llamas. Today they are still used in South America for carrying loads - especially in the mountainous areas where trade would otherwise be impossible.
Llamas are very gentle, intelligent animals and this, combined with the fact that they can carry loads makes them ideal walking companions, although here in Scotland these days the loads are more likely to be a tasty picnic!
Llama trekking is suitable for absolutely everyone - from the very old to the very young, from the able bodied, to guests with mobility impairment.
Lochend Llamas, based in Glenshiel, Lochalsh are offering you a chance to win a two-hour private trek and picnic for up to 6 people in one of the most beautiful areas of Scotland.
The day out will be undertaken entirely at your own risk. The winner will be responsible for providing own accommodation, transport, spending money and personal / equipment insurance. Any costs incurred will be paid by the winner in full. The promoters hold no responsibility for these costs.
