care parking (Anchor) parking ticket...APPEAL OR IGNORE?!?

Ok so im new to MSE and this whole parking ticket scam.

nearly 2 weeks ago at Radcliffe metrolink station operated by care parking (Anchor) i received a ticket for parking in a disabled bay with no disabled badge.

Now all the parking bays are painted white. And the row of disabled bays are painted yellow in a straight row finally to where the normal bays are, however the last 2 disabled bays have had the lines painted over in white, so i proceeded to park there thinking it was a normal bay with no signage close to say it was a disabled bay (all be it, the disabled wheelchair sign is also printed within the white lines as i since saw after i returned to the car and discovered the ticket).

I was just about to write an appeal then discovered these threads about these scam fines and care parking aswell. My question is should i put in the appeal or should i just ignore them.

Many thanks!!

No point appealing unless you are prepared to go to popla when they turn you down. If you are go for it and we can help with that. But to be honest ignore works as well without the headache and time of an appeal.

  • Thanks Stroma, just wanted some recent clarification as some of the threads i read were quite old and i saw there were some changes involving popla independant appeals and BPA registered scammers!! Didnt know if i actually now had to appeal to get away with not paying them.

Is it likely they will get the collections companies to chase for it, then give up at some point? i dont personally have a problem with the collection companies, i work in debt management so am aware of what they are like.

So you feel i am ok ignoring this?

Not quite sure which ones these use, but its more than likely roxburghe/graham white or debt recovery plus/zenith , both issue threatograms claiming holy damnation but nothing really happens as these are not legitimate debts, so not worthy of getting involved with their little games.

If you work in debt management you know what low life scumbags these companies and their ilk are like, they lie, they try all kinds of underhanded tricks to get money . As you can see I hold them in little esteem ;)
