Advice sought on small knock situation

My son had bump with car. No witnesses, no damage to our car, small paint job required on other car. Want to avoid dealing with insurance company as have young drivers on policy. Though no fault admitted, offered to pay £200 repair bill for other car, to close matter.
His insurance have called a few times seeking confirmation that we are covering repairs. No contact made with them or our insurance. Other driver been quiet now and suspect he may be going through his insurance.
I will be making no claim and therefore intend to let matters rest as though it never happened. ( and will maintain this oposition if contacted again, by his or our insurance).
Any advice to contrary is welcome.

Um, what are you asking exactly?0

If you ignore his insurers they will contact your sons insurers and if he is at fault they will have no option but to pay. There is no point ignoring the situation and therefore it may be worth contacting the other party direct and offer to pay outside insurance.0

We have offered to pay, but I get the feeling, as I have not heard from the other party for a week that they may just be going through insurance. There was no liability admitted, nor will there be. The question is should I let it rest or contact his/our insurer and a) admit the incident but without liabilty and as far as we are concerned the matter is closed ? or b) the incident never happened ?Mortgage free

he will have to declair it for 5 years now anyway, but just wait and see what happensDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Your son is contractually obliged to tell his insurers what happened. (Or you are, if it's your policy)
By "his insurerance" do you mean the other party's? If you ignore them they'll contact your/your son's insurance. If you ignore them, they'll pay out to the third party. Don't think that they need your permission to do so.0 -
I believe you have a clause in your insurance that you will notify them of any accidents even where you do not intend to claim. This question is often asked when you apply for a new insurance quote so if you answer no you will be lying!
If other party has notified their insurer, which they are bound to do by their own insurance policy, then your registration will have an accident logged against it. Your insurer could use this as a reason to cancel your insurance with immediate effect if you do not notify them.

Follow the advice by Poppy. You have to be sure from Your side and from Your insurance firm side.0

Any accident that anyone one has even if they are driving a works vehicle for example, Bus, ambulance, fire engine etc you have to declare to any insurance company for between 3 and 5 years regardless of fault or blame. Its about YOU the driver your their risk.0

Does matter if you consider the matter closed or not.
The TP is going via their insurers. You can therefore choose to settle with their insurance company rather than letting your insurers handle it for you to preserve any NCD/ claims history but you will still need to let your insurers know about the incident.
If you dont want to admit liability then simply offer to settle the TPI claim on a without prejudice basis0
