Question for Twitter compers

My twitter account is purely for comping
However I have only ever won a mug and I reckon that was down to having interactions with the person doing the comp rather :cool:0 -

Having tried various methods last few weeks (in the name of research :rotfl:) I genuinely think it is luck of the draw. I tried the RTing company tweet about 5 mins before the end, I went from C&P to only company RT's last month and won loads, same method this month have won very little, gone back to C&P spamming and still not winning, I never interact with companies and never have.
The one thing I do find strange but it is unexplainable is the big prizes go to the same few names, they don't do anything different to anyone else, yet during the advents saw one person win over £800 of prizes in same day, and last week saw another win over £300 of prizes in same day. I appreciate it is luck of the draw but given the number of entries is same names getting the most coveted prizes. It doesn't appear to be evenly spread, admittedly I do well on there in relation to the amount of prizes, but I think from memory my biggest win on there was a normal Kindle in December 2011 (very much loved I might add), but am still waiting to win one of the biggies xxI love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

Comping only, I have won a few small things on Follow & RT comps, but I never comment and don't enter any where you have to comment or tweet to a #blahblah.
I also only do Twitter comps on the closing day, have missed a few due to "prize drawn after X number of followers" but that no great loss.*****Debt Free Since 2008*****The Best Feeling in the world*******************************************Best Wins Trip to The Daytona 500Kitchen Aid Advent Bundle

Its to do with their twitter rankings. You don't know what your rank is but its usually to do with the number of followers you have. The people who win most are usually people who have a larger following (usually due to having blogs) so stay in the "top tweets" section of the search results longer. If the company picks from top tweets rather than using software to pick randomly then those same people always have advantage. I find it unfair but the judge's decision is final. I think as time goes on, more companies will use more fairer methods of picking winners
Another example of this is the Remington comp on Twitter where they were giving away 10 hair straightners. 9 went to bloggers and people started to complain so the 10th one went to someone random.0 -

Will have to disagree on this, I have more followers than the regular big winners, 1 of the regular big winners is a blogger but others have far less followers. So don't think it's that reason. Will agree that Remongton was a farce as none of the winners had retweeted xxI love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

Do you use your account purely for competitions?
I gave up on Twitter last year for personal reasons but thinking of getting back into it (but just for comps). My question is- can you get in trouble for just using Twitter to enter competitions?
All advice appreciated.
Mine is mainly for comping, I didn't really use Twitter till I started doing them.. I've been distracted by following a few nice male celebs since thenbut on the whole I usually just RT comps and follow a lot of travel and other sites for information only.
Only won a handful of small prizes though, cat treats, couple of guide books and a paper notebook, think that's it so bit crap really!0
