Total Parking Solutions

In February this year, my husband And I dropped off two car lots of kids. We parked in Halfords car park....it was dark (after 6 and outside business hours) and certainly no obvious signage you could read.
Returned to cars 2 hours 18 minutes later.

Just got two Charge Notice Reminders for each car ....never had any previous correspondence...I can understand one letter going walkies in post...but TWO...seems unlikely.
So basically saying have to pay in full now...implying we are out of appeal time.

One....surely signs should be lit...how can you tell conditions of use of a dark car park that isn't enclosed and beside a pavement?

I have read various posts but confess to being confused?

some say ignore...some say don't...some mention appeal...but according to these two letters we are outside appeal...but we didnt get two supposed initial letters?
Help please!
Jackie

    Jackie,

Just ignore them, total parking disasters don't for the most part do court despite their outlandish threats, think they went there a few times in 2011 out of all the 1000s of invoices they dished out, I don't believe they actually went before a judge, at least I have never heard of it.

The advice of ignore is current and the best method of dealing with companies like these.

It would not have mattered if you had still been in the time allowed for an appeal. They wouldn't have granted your appeal anyway.
I can afford anything that I want.

If you were still within the appeal period I would say appeal, but in your case it's ignore all the way!

Just play snap with the letters that match the OLD pre-October letter chains link on the 'PPC letter chains' sticky thread. Simples.

Thanks all, very kind of you. Would not paying affect my credit history?

No unless you opened a credit account with them, have you signed anything ? ;) and this could only effect your credit rating if it went to the small claims, they win the case, and you refuse to pay the judgement within 28 days. Put it this way it's more likely to win the lottery jackpot.

I often link this old but still relevant thread from pepipoo forums which explains why this does not affect your credit rating and cannot just result in them slapping a CCJ on your record!

I have had a super response from Halfords. they are getting it cancelled. They were also adamant that TPS is not acting on behalf of them, but the car park is privately owned. very impressed by how helpful they were.
You have all been wonderful on here :)
