Tablet screen replaced but company damages bezel on removing

How do stand with this?
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet, not a cheap tablet by any means, and was devastated that my son dropped it after only 3 weeks cracking the screen. I asked Ipaq Repair to replace it and we agreed a price and I sent it off. A week later it was returned with a new screen BUT they have scratched and chipped the silver bezel when they removed it. Looks like it's been butchered!!
I emailed the company and sent them photos and they very quickly called me. They admitted the damage and said it was unavoidable due to the fragile nature of the bezel and asked what I would like them to do. I said I want it to look in the same as new condition it was in when I sent it in for repair and and he said he'd look into it and get back to me.
Meanwhile though, I have seen a video of someone separating the screen from the bezel using a direct link heat to soften the adhesive and a plastic knife and they didn't cause any damage at all... so my thoughts is that it was avoidable!
What are everyone's thoughts on this? And what happens if they come back to me and say they can offer £20 compensation like was mentioned...I don't think that's good enough.. .:(

Then you may need to decide what you think is the right level of compensation and negotiate with them to find the common point.Jester7303 wrote: »...what happens if they come back to me and say they can offer £20 compensation like was mentioned...I don't think that's good enough.. .:(
Out of interest, what do you think is 'good enough'?0 -
To tell u the truth I'm not interested in compensation...just want my tablet looking like it did. Is that too much to ask? I sent it in for a screen repair and ended up with damage on the bezel...damage that wasn't there before...0

Have you tried removing the screen/bezel using the heat method?
I have, numerous times, and I can happily pull an iPhone/Ipad apart and reassemble with no signs.
The glue the entire bezel /screen together is a complete nightmare. Was it just the glass cracked or was the digitizer dead as well? If it was the former then the part is far cheaper but its much more difficult to separate the digitiser from the glass.0
