Hi,
Im in the process of selling my property, but our buyer can't exchange until the Consent Order is granted for their divorce. Does anyone know how long County Courts take to process this (it is now with the court)?
Many thanks

Technically they can and their solicitor will be obliged to hold the funds until they receive instruction in the form of a consent order on what to do with the funds. Your buyer is maybe 'choosing' not to exchange until the consent order is complete. Maybe it is worth you asking precisely why they have to wait? Length of time can vary depending on complexity of the order and how busy the court is.0

The buyer is buying our property with money borrowed from her family, as her & husband (soon to be ex) are unable to sell their family home. I believe it is so that he can not claim any entitlement to this lent money. It was agreed by both parties easily and they are on good terms (I think its a divorce that has been granted after x-years of separation) and I believe her solicitor has advised not to exchange until this document is complete. I guess I will just have to wait to see when we get the go ahead, it just seems to be dragging on and the property we are buying has been put back on the market :-(0
