Mortgage payment protection

Please help…
I’ve been offered payment protection with my mortgage. I would like to take it as I’m unsure I’ll still have a job at the end of the year as the company I work for are looking for a buyer and are re-assessing the situation at the end of December ( nothing has been said about site closure and redundancies ) Would I still be ok taking it??

Is there anyway they can find out about the company looking for buyers?

I don’t want to pay for the policy and not be able to claim at the end of the year.

depends on the provider and policy. These policies are not all the same.
