Is there a good time to call the Tax Credits helpline?

I'd like to ask a question before I fill in the annual renewal forms in which case I might as well renew over the phone. I'm pretty sure the form isn't as it should be so I really must call them.
Anyone found a good time for getting through? I haven't been sucessful yet.

Hello,
At the moment it is the renewal period so their isn't really a good time to call, but based on the shift patterns they offer us by 11.30am everyday we are all in and at maximum capacity, so thats when the queue drops (only for about 10 minutes tho lol). There are 7 Tax Credits contact centres across the UK, and this week each has had 80-100 calls waiting to be dealt with at anyone time. The average waiting time is 2-5 minutes.
Also, if you are worried about the cost of the call, just remeber it is local rate not national rate.
Finally, if you go onto https://www.saynoto0870.com, click on search to find an alternative number (towards top left of page) & then type in 08453003900 it will list the geographical numbers, so if you have a mobile phone with free minutes its free. It also gives you the option of which centre you want to go through to, and then you can stick with one centre instead of being put through to different centres across the country.
Hope all this helps
Regards, Hotblu0
