Vent -- Car Insurance renewal...

Why can't I renew my car insurance without the call centre staff trying to sell me legal expenses, additional injury cover, house insurance, breakdown cover etc. No, I don't want the convenience of automatic renewal nor do I want the pleasure of being contacted by your fabulous affiliates. JUST TAKE MY MONEY!

Just the same as you can't get out of WH Smith without being offered 1/2 price chocolate, or being flogged fancy polish when buying shoes, or getting offered a 'large' meal in McD's - even the £1 shop near me are at it! Upselling has been going on for years in one form or another. I agree it's bl**dy annoying though...0

I had to do it when I worked in the call centre for Budget Insurance a few years ago (please don't hate me). I always tried to phrase it as "would you be interested in (whatever option it was)" rather than "we can also provide (whatever option it was)".0
