Hi, I went to a wedding last year that had a lot of little ones at it, My friend had organised a creche room, and had 2 childminders there, The little ones ate their meals in there, but some did pop in and out to see thier parents, It wasnt a bother at all.
My DD's who are 13 and 17 were sat with us,but I think they would have rather been in with the little ones having the kids meal! they wernt too keen on the food!

  • So far we have four kids coming to our wedding, who will be aged seven, four, two and eighteen months. We're not having a seating plan though so I'm guessing they'll sit with their parents, and I'm going to make up little party bags for them similar to those mentioned above. Not sure about food yet - our meal is likely to be a carvery buffet so hopefully there'll be stuff on that the kids will eat, but the venue also offers a kids' menu which is slightly cheaper (and also sounds really nice!) so I'll probably ask the parents closer to the time. We're also planning to set up a corner upstairs in the venue with soft cushions, story books etc and put screens round it so the kids have somewhere to sleep during the evening part if needed.

  • We have 10 children at our wedding, all of which are seated with their parents. I have however booked a bouncy castle for the day so am hoping that will keep them out of mischief for the speeches at least! Oh yes and have got party packs with sweets and activity books instead of favours.

Just a comment about the bouncy castle.... It's a really good idea but does mean the adults supervising their children will also miss part of the wedding and have you considered it will make the kids over excited lol

We kept all of the children with their parents.. But tried to arrange the tables so that they were not the only child on the table. I think if they are older than about 13 then they could probably sit on their own, providing that they know some of the other guests, as can be very awkward for an adult if you don't know anyone, never mind a child!

To keep them entertained we did all of the kids goody bags, and had games on the table for the older ones.

we kept ours with their parents so someone would be looking after them but they all got little gift bags with toys (just pound shop stuff) to keep them busy. The parents were absolutely made up at the extra touch and it let them enjoy their day. Food wise, I had asked the parents and ordered kids meals for them, on the day however some of the little mites changed their mind and had the smaller version of the full meal but the hotel were brilliant about it and didn't charge anything extra.
    hope that helps

I have 10 children coming to the wedding and have prepared a table for them with colouring books and pencils on. They all have an individual gift bag and also sourced cheap disposable cameras for them with a list of pictures to take. I read that children can sometimes take the best pictures. I have also been given board games such as children's monopoly and pin the tail. I want the parents to relax at my wedding so ensuring there is lots for the children to do. Luckily I am marrying in a village and there is a walled garden opposite the children can play in if the sun comes out.
