Really happy managed to up our income.

Options
We are a family with 2 children. My partner works and gets 16000 a year and I stay at home (wouldnt be worth me working part time as all my wage would go to child care at the moment)
We had a big payoff with PPI and managed to clear our debt off his parents. (we had money off them to pay for his car). This year our car insurance is halved? (dont know why probably because hes turning 30 this year) and we have been able to cut our sky down from 50 - 30 a month (we phoned asking to cancel the tv but they swindled it to give us the same deal for £20 less) And also we cut our gas and electric from 180 down to 120.

Our income is as follows
Pay 1070
housing 180
Child Tax 412
Child Benefit 134
=1796

Our Outgoings

Rent 450
C.tax 100
Petrol 120 (his job is quite far)
water 27
Gas and Electric 120
Tv licence 12
Sky 30
Car insurance 30
School dinner money 40
Playgroup 60
Mobile 25
1014

=782 to buy food and luxuries a month :) :j
or 195.50 a week :)

Last year we had such a difficult time, (We didnt know we were eligible for housing benefit to help pay our rent) and with all our bills were left with £70 to buy food and luxuries a week. Just wanted to share my job with you guys and let you know. If you cut back on a few simple things, try hard to pay off debt, claim your ppi, dont use CC or try and rely on them. You can get results. I feel so happy, than I have in a long while. I want to start saving a little (how much do you think I should keep away.) I also going to treat my children to a nice butlins holiday and buy them some new clothes, instead of relying on Ebay (not that there isnt anything wrong with this) be nice to treat them than give them second hand all the time xxxx :) hoping all you will get happy with money soon too xxxx

Congratulations, but you didn't actually up your income, you paid off debt and reduced your outgoings. ;)

Plus you seem to have some things as monthly payments (salary etc) and others as 4 weekly. If that's the case then you have less money than you think.

I hope things go well for you in 2013. There are normally only two ways to approach this either increase your income or reduce your outgoings.

We've increased our incomings and reduced our outgoings. I would say that you should put away at least £50 a week, if you managed before without it then you won't miss what you never had!

    Well done :)
