Hi
I opened a new account with barclays on the 14th and received my debit card yesterday. I made my first deposit of 2500 into the account yesterday and made a couple of online debit card transactions without any problem. however, when i attempted to top up my.oyster card on the tfl website it got declined. It was late so i thought nothing of it and went to sleep.
Called barclays this morning and they said that there is a marker placed on the account and that i have to call back on a 0800 number that they gave me in 48hrs. I still have over 2300 quid in there and the account hasn't been open a week and they do this! The 0800 389 1652 number they gave me is fraud dept in India. does anybody know of a number to get through to somebody British?!? Damned if Im waiting 48hrs for my money.
Cheers
John

If the fraud department is in India, it's unlikely there'll be anyone in the UK to help. They'll most likely just refer you to India.0

In that case does anybody have a number to complain on?0
-
Why not just try making the call, you may be pleasantly surprised?
If not, then make a complaint.0 -
Barclays how to complain page is here, but best (& quickest?) to try the normal channels first?0

such a large amount, and popular fraud transactions may hit their fraud / ml checksDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Why do you want to complain?
Banks, have to have security systems in place to detect fraud.
CLearly your spending has hit a pattern of fraud.
Look on it as a bonus and the bank doing you a favor.
I work with a lot of security people from Inda and they are great... So stop being racist and talk to them to resolve the problem.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0
