Tommorow I will count all my change lying around, I seem to leave money everywhere and even have random amounts at the bottom of my handbag, in coat pockets etc... There is an organised person somewhere inside me who cringes at my chaotic lifestyle.

Anyway, change will be counted and paid into bank account. Really want to be rid of the council tax debt by Sunday night...
48 hours and 11 minutes from now. Surely I can find / save £45 in that time to just be rid of it!!

Maybe we should all have weekend goals?

    Ready, steady, go!!

I totally do, I think that making lots of small payments and updating totals regularly is much more motivational than making large payments on payday then having to wait a whole month before paying again...

Keeps it in my mind aswell. I used to just pay everything on payday then think of what was in my account as my money for the month, where as this way, I think more of what I can afford to spend :)

I think the last two debts are going to be the hardest as they are so big and I wont be able to see any real progress quickly. Just having a look at other people's posts for ideas to keep motivated on big balances...

  • TTGU, Thanks for your comment on my post, I must say that there are a LOT of inspirational posts/people on this forum but it would take you years to read them all. The comunity here is great and everyone helps eachother in many ways. You are lucky to have found such a place :D

Why not break the balance down? Firstly pay it down to a round figure and then do £100/£50 chunks. It doesn't mean you have to pay the debt in that way you can set asside an empty account or a tin in your house and put the payments in that and then pay the debt monthly/whatever. That way you arn't seeing £2275 each time you pay something off but you are seeing £35.20 out of £50.00 iyswim.

You are doing very, very well! Have you manage to count your loose change today?
